Call for abstracts
The organizing committee invites original contributions on cell culture, bioprocessing and their biotechnological applications. Abstracts are written in English.

How to take part, step by step
Five steps. The third one only applies if you present a work.
Create your accountWith your email, and verify it.
- Click «Sign up», top right, and fill in the form.
- Open the link we email you. Until your account is verified you cannot submit anything.

- In your dashboard, under «Registration & payment», tick what you are coming to: symposium, course or both. Everyone takes this step.
- If you also present, go to «Abstracts», click «New abstract» and choose oral or poster. Orals close a month earlier.
- When you submit it you get a reference and a receipt by email. If you are only attending, go on to payment.

What it looks like once payment is credited.
Format
- Language
- The abstract is written in English, including the title.
- How to submit
- You write the abstract on the platform, from your account panel. There is no file to email and no template to download, so there is no typeface or margin to set either. The platform takes care of the format.
- Title
- Informative and at least 8 words long. Information retrieval systems rely on it, so it carries no abbreviations, acronyms or formulae.
- Authors
- Entered one by one, with their affiliation, marking who presents and who is the corresponding author. Each affiliation carries its institution and country.
- Length
- The five fields together do not exceed 400 words, not counting the title or the authors. The form shows a live counter.
- Structure
- Five fields, each in its own box. First a short summary. Then the four sections: Introduction, with the context and purpose; Methods, with the main methodologies; Results, with the findings; and Conclusions, with what you conclude and what it implies.
- Keywords
- Between 3 and 6 keywords.
- Nomenclature and units
- International System of Units. Keep abbreviations to a minimum and do not include bibliographic references.
- Publication
- The summary of an accepted work is published as it was submitted, with its authors' names, in the documents the symposium hands to attendees. The four sections are read only by the committee.

Poster rules
If your work is accepted for poster presentation, this is how to prepare the printed version you will bring to the congress.
- Size
- 0.90 m wide × 1.20 m high
- Format
- Free: the design, fonts, colours and layout of the content are up to you.
- SLATCC logo
- Mandatory on the poster. Download the logo
- Poster number
- Mandatory and clearly visible. It is the participant number of whoever submitted the work, for example SL26-0046; they will find it in their dashboard. It is not the abstract number.
- Person responsible for the poster
- Whoever submits the work is responsible for the poster, even if another author presents it. They must be registered: without a registration, the poster has no number.

Registration fees
Two things move the price: who you are and when you pay.
- Who you are
- Three categories. Students, with a current undergraduate or postgraduate ID. Academic staff, meaning researchers and technicians attached to an institution. And professionals, meaning anyone attending from industry or private practice.
- When you pay
- The reduced fee is kept by uploading the payment receipt before 30 September 2026; after that the general one applies. Saving the registration is not enough, because what is rewarded is paying early, not signing up early. The difference is 50 dollars for the symposium and 50 for the course, in any category.

Both formats include working materials, Coffee Breaks and a midday meal, from 2 to 5 November. The practical format adds materials for three hands-on sessions in specialised laboratories and visits to the national laboratories.
The symposium and the course are charged separately: you can attend just one.
How to pay
When you register you choose where you are paying from, because the procedure differs. From Mexico, the committee issues a slip with your agreement number and your reference, and you pay it at the bank as a service payment. From outside Mexico, you deposit into UNAM's account at JP Morgan. Either way, you upload your receipt on the platform.
An invoice can be issued on request. Ask the committee and send your tax details when you upload your receipt.
Scholarships can be requested. Write to the congress address with a letter explaining your reasons.
Review
The organizing committee reviews every abstract and issues an accept or reject decision. The outcome is notified by email and recorded in your dashboard, together with the committee's comments where provided.
