The Institute of Biotechnology
Founded in 1982 on UNAM's Cuernavaca campus, the IBt is one of the longest-standing biotechnology research centres in Latin America. Its community works on cell engineering, molecular biology, bioprocessing, molecular medicine and plant biotechnology.
Getting there
Cuernavaca is a little over an hour by road from Mexico City. Direct and frequent coaches run from the Taxqueña and Sur terminals and from Mexico City International Airport (AICM). The campus is in Chamilpa, in the north of the city.
Lodging
Cuernavaca has hotels across a wide price range. For this edition there is a group rate arranged with Hotel Racquet, ten minutes by car from the centre and with easy transport to the institute.

The committee arranged a group rate with Hotel Racquet Cuernavaca for the nights of 28 October to 3 November 2026, covering both the symposium and the course. It is a 1939 estate with gardens, a heated pool, tennis courts and a restaurant, about ten minutes by car from the historic centre.

Rate per room per night, in Mexican pesos, with 16% VAT and the 3.75% lodging tax already included. Subject to availability and applicable from ten rooms upwards. Check-in 15:00, check-out 13:00. After 30 September, bookings are subject to whatever rate applies on the day.
